Christian Perspective

This once majority Catholic nation has made a sharp turn towards atheism. People try to fill the spiritual vacuum in their lives with occult practices, secularism, materialism, foreign cults, drugs, and gambling. The Evangelical Church has experienced slow, steady growth, though there is still a strong need for outreach. There has been a breakthrough with the Roma (Gypsy) population.

Praise Points:

  • The transformation since 1974 from a poor, isolate, dictatorship to a prosperous, integrated, liberated nation
  • The Roma (Gypsy) revival
  • Growth of the Evangelical church

Prayer Points:

  • The spiritual vacuum which is being filled by secularism, materialism, foreign cults, the occult, drugs, and gambling.
  • A need for strong Christian leadership and outreach
