First it was the Four S Venture: Silk Road, Caribbean Sun, Desert Sand and Asian Spice.

Now we have a fifth S: Sea to Sea. It is a call to the Canadian church to truly embrace the mission of church planting and multiplication literally from sea to sea in Canada and embracing the movement of peoples across the seas when they immigrate to Canada.

The Sea to Sea venture and its accompanying logo was launched Thursday evening by the six District Superintendents who called it “the final piece of the puzzle” emanating from the new thrust that The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada has taken since General Assembly 2000. At the Calgary gathering, the Vision Prayer was launched said Western Canadian District Superintendent Ken Driedger. “Then in Winnipeg we launched the Four S Venture as a reminder of our determination to redeploy our personnel and resources to the least reached people groups of the world.”

But, he reminded delegates, “our Vision Prayer calls for us ask God for transformation in Canada”. The new Sea to Sea is the culmination of much prayer and strategizing to help churches answer that transformational call. Further details of how Sea to Sea will be rolled out will be made public at the O Canada brunch Saturday morning.
