Bill and Diane Finnemore - Poland |
Despite some setting up difficulties, we already have 350 guests! Praise God. Some of them are from last year and remember Bill. Please pray that many would come into the coffee tent to hear the Christian music, drama, films and our preacher rapper. Today's the day everyone officially starts arriving.

Curtis and Linda Doell - Costa Rica |
|
We are "Big Brothers" to 3 sets of Canadian Alliance missionaries coming to the school to learn Spanish. Pray that travel, setting up housing and all the little things of getting families adjusted to a new culture will be smoooth and God will go before it all to prepare.
With the end of school insight, that means getting to do what we came here for. As we continue to build the crisis response ministry, that we will be directed in our decision making and that God will be glorified through what we do and the people we will meet.

Bill and Diane Finnemore - Poland |

As many of you know, Bill is in a Christian motorcycle club, Boanerges (see Mark 3:17) here in Poland. On Monday Bill along with others from the club will be traveling to the western side of Poland to set up for an outreach to other bikers. This is a very intense kind of ministry to a very "unique" people group.

Ben and Kari Elliott - Indonesia |
|
You can pray for me (Ben) as I am starting in a new position on our team here as the head of Team Education, that I would be able to stay organised and on top of everything from an admin perspective, and that our little education team here in Indonesia (Judy, Andy, and Lora) would really be part of making a difference for the strengthening of the church here and the development of new leaders. Pray for us that our team would feel encouraged and supported (we are a little scattered all over Indonesia).
Kari will be continuing to show care and love to our kids this year, but will also be starting in a few weeks as the new volunteer track coach at a National Plus school in East Jakarta. It is a big challenge for her in finding the balance between home and work, but also a real great opportunity for ministry. Pray also for her continuing network of relationships both in and out of the athletic community here in Jakarta.

Richard and Hope Reichert - Mexico |
The Atizapan church is active in missions and working toward supporting a couple to an indigenous people group in Mexico. We are partnering together to develop a missions training centre and the church is hosting short term missions teams regularly including a team from Windsor Chinese Alliance this week. Pray for the impact of this workshop and the development of a missions vision in the congregation.

We had a great week of learning and teaching at VBS in many ways! Thanks for your prayers.
Next week a short-term team from Saskatoon arrives. We're asking God for key conversations with friends from our English group and opportunities to share hope with families from Brave Heart ministries. Thanks for standing with us in prayer!

I have begun prayer meeting with a church core group every Wednesday night recently. Its purpose is to pray for one another and for church revival. Actually, the core group members suggested having weekly prayer meeting because they believed we need to pray first. I am grateful for their suggestion. God really changes their lives! Also, the congregation spends more time to pray at the end of Sunday service. Prayer is not a privilege for church leaders only, but the congregation should learn to lean on God through the practice of prayer.

Lizette Lavoie - Guinea |
Please pray with me for Charlotte, a new arrival (July 9) among the group of babies and toddlers in crisis that I am involved with. Charlotte is not HIV+, but her mother is. Charlotte is eight months old and needs to stop breastfeeding so that she will not become infected. We have taken her to the doctor for a complete check-up and she does have health issues, besides being borderline malnourished. We will know more when her test results come in.
Pray for her mother, J, who is abused and rejected by her husband. She is very thin and malnourished herself. Pray for wisdom for us (Lizette, Lazare and Faith) and pray that J and her husband will come to know the Lord.

Pray for a group of at least five young ladies between the ages of 14 and 18 that began a weekly literacy course this Monday in the Brazzaville Kombo Alliance Church. Their desire is to be able to read the Bible on their own.

Bill and Diane Finnemore - Poland |
This year, our Father and Son canoe trip turned into a Mixed canoe trip. I (Diane) went along as well as two of the daughters!
We had some wonderful devotional times and singing around the campfire and it was a joy to see how this group, where most people didn't know each other, became a unit. We thank Jesus for this. We did a lot of laughing and joking and the men were even singing old Polish army songs on the last portage. We saw the communication between fathers and daughters grow and that was a pleasure to observe. We give God the glory for this.
Kasia and Michasia (the two daughters) struck a friendship that will last a lifetime. Let us pray to that end and that Michasia will give her life to Christ Jesus because of Kasia's example of love.
Bill lead devotions with some deep questions. Pawel, our neighbour, engaged in these talks for which we are thankful. Please continue to pray for Pawal and his wife, Ania—that God will work in their lives and draw them into a relationship with himself.

Daniel and Melodie Ibsen - Guinea |
|
Pray for safety in travel as Dan flies to Edmonton July 16 for a week of study in the libraries there and to finalize a more formal partnership with the Westlock Alliance Church in the Seamless Link.
July 26, We (Dan and Melodie) will attend a Field meeting with our C&MA colleagues to seek the Lord together for his direction for future ministry in Guinea. Pray that God will direct us as a field and give us his vision for our work here.
Pray also that we will continue to know God's leading in our preparation for the WAVE program.
Praise God for bringing Guinea through the first round of presidential elections on June 27th. Since none of the 24 candidates obtained more than 50% of the votes, the two top candidates will run again to determine who will become the next president.
Please pray for Guinea during the next couple of weeks as the election process continues. Pray that there will be peace in the meantime, that the election will go smoothly and that the person who comes in second will accept the results calmly. Pray, too, that people will be honest and upright as they vote, count the ballots and report to the authorities.

Lisa Rohrick - Niger |
I am really excited about my group of men (which has grown to eight) who meet weekly in the village "congress hall" to hear Bible stories. In the last five weeks we have done an overview of the Old Testament. I have tried to emphasize that no one is without sin, that sin separates us from God, bringing shame and death, and that God keeps his promises and has promised to send a Saviour. Each week I give them written copies of the stories which they proceed to read right away.
Next week I get to tell the Christmas story, introducing them to the One who made the new covenant in his blood.
I have a great sense of anticipation for what God's doing here. But I'm also aware that there is opposition. I need you to pray that nothing will block our story times from happening and that the guys will keep showing up. Pray that Jesus will reveal himself to them!

Don and Betty Orr - Poland |
Praise God for a safe trip back to Poland. A new president has been elected for Poland: President Komorowski. Pray that he will be God's man for Poland and that he will be able to bring together a country divided by the election.
As we shared with many of you while in Canada, we feel our gifts lie in the area of leadership development. Monday evening, the youth pastor from Bielsk Podlaski (Andrzej) visited us and asked me (Don) if I would mentor him. What an affirmation that being in the centre of God's will, wherever that is, is being home.

Maria DeLeeuw - Cambodia |
Thank you for praying for the various youth meetings and trips over the past few months. The road trip was especially great! Over 30 people went to visit small groups and churches to encourage the believers there.
Please pray for our annual Field Forum (July 6-9)—a time set aside for our C&MA staff for spiritual nourishment, business sessions, ministry reports and fellowship together. I have been on the planning committee, but since the chair has gone on home assignment, I have now taken on those responsibilities for this week-long event. Please pray for wisdom and that details will fall into place. Pray for safety in travel and a good time together as a team.
August 13 will be election day for the national youth committee leader. Please pray that the chosen leaders will be one who is following after God's heart, has a heart for youth and who will be able to work well with the committee. August 14 will be a day of meetings for the new committee.

July 6-9, nineteen international workers will attend the Field Forum for the Caribbean Sun region in Panama. Pray for Doug and Judy Wiebe as they lead the devotions. Pray also for spiritual refreshing and renewal of the group.

Ralph and Ruth Shareski - Germany |
"Fellow Meets God", the unique outreach at "Coffee Fellows," a local coffee shop, takes place again Sunday evening on July 18 at 7:00 pm. The vision team has sensed a degree of resistance recently—please pray for breakthroughs and for boldness and salvation through this ministry.
Praise God for the five young adults who were baptized on July 4. After hearing their stories of deliverance and salvation, the joy of knowing Jesus, the transformation of relationships in the family, we made our way down to the Rhine river where they were baptized.
Praise God that Ralph's first chemo session went well. Pray that God will use the next chemo session (July 12-14) to bring further healing.

Heather Hahn - Mexico |
La Fuente (our church) and Brave Heart kids need a place to call home. While we're renting an ideal location, we want to continue growing and would like to have access during the week. Pray for a good, permanent location and the necessary funds.
Next week, we'll be celebrating God's Word with our Brave Heart and church kids. There's still lots to plan! Ask God that our kids will see Jesus Christ in truth.

Lorne and Kathy-Lu White - Taiwan |
Praise God with us for the children who attend the Children's English Club and hear Bible stories each week. Pray that many will be able to attend the Children's Bilingual Summer Camp on July 24-25. Short-term workers from the Fullness of Life Alliance Chu8rch in Chungli, Taiwan, will be working with the children and their families for those two days and sharing Jesus' love with them.

Joseph and Helen Lee - Guatemala |
July 5-10, fourteen international workers will attend the Latin America Chinese Alliance International Worker's Field Forum in Panama, under the leadership of Acting Regional Developer, Rev. Dave Peters. Pray for Doug and Judy Wiebe who will be attending—Doug will be speaking, and Judy will be providing member care. Pray for a refreshing and strengthening time for all.
July 30 - August 16, our home church is sending an eight-member short-term mission team made up of youth—so they can experience missions first hand. The team will be spending five days with Oasis, the orphanage that our young people have been working with during the past six years. Pray that the Lord will speak to these young lives and use them for his glory.

Paul and Chantelle McIver - Niger |
Please pray for Bennett (our five-year-old son) who fell from some monkey bars on Sunday and broke both bones in his left forearm. Chantelle and Bennett travelled to Paris for medical care. Praise the Lord that the doctor there was able to set his arm without having to put in any pins. However, she does want him to stay in Paris for observation for a couple weeks, thinking there may be nerve damage and wanting to make sure the bones don't move. Please pray that Bennett's arm will heal completely and quickly, with no complications.
Pray also for Tamat, the mother of one of my (Chantelle) good friends. Every Tuesday I am at their home. Over the past two years as my capacity to speak Tamasheq has increased, I have been able to communicate with Tamat more and more. She is a single mother of six children between the ages of 6 and 23. Her husband died in the rebellion in the north of the country. Tamat is always laughing and has welcomed Rebecca and I into her home and "adopted" us as what she calls her "white daughters." She is quick to make us tea, praise us on our growth in our language skills, and laugh at our errors. One of her sons has chosen to become a Christian. Please pray for Tamat—that she too will come to believe in Jesus as her Saviour.
Pray for the country of Niger. A national state of emergency has been declared because the country is suffering from horrible famine. Hundreds of thousands of people are at risk for malnutrition and starvation, with the most vulnerable being the children. We have a small feeding program going on, and we covet your prayers for those program participants, and also for the millions of people in the country that this famine is affecting.
