Christian Perspective

The Church in Malaysia is slowly growing. Its main problem is restrictions placed on spreading the Good News. With the majority of the populace being Muslim, the State has made the shari’a criminal code part of the law. Increased visa problems have forced many expatriate Christian workers out of the country.

Praise Points:

  • The continued growth and maturing of the Church.
  • The number of evangelical churches has grown from 2,500 to over 4,000 since 1992, and there is a growing prayer movement which has brought forth unity and spiritual renewal.

Prayer Points:

  • Pray that the Muslim populous would be receptive to the Word (it is illegal to share the Gospel to a Muslim).
  • Pray that the constitutional statute for religious freedom would be upheld and that there will be unity in the church.
  • Pray for a courageous leadership made of strong Christians.
