The work of ministry is ultimately done by the people of the church. This is God's intention and we must fulfill it or our church will not function. Talk to your pastor or your Christian mentor about the areas where you will be able to minister with effectiveness and joy.

Ministry to children is important to Jesus. They need to be taught factual information about the Bible, but they also need to be loved as the Lord would love them. If you enjoy reading and talking to children, perhaps you could have a special ministry to them. Most churches have a Church Education program, and/or will provide teaching with fun times and skill-building in a club program. As well, there may be special areas of ministry in your church such as children's choirs or a program for children during the morning worship service.

The teen years are when decisions are made which shape much of life. Ministry of youth is of vital importance to the continuing life of the church. Your church may need lay leaders to help as sponsors in the youth group, quiz coaches, counsellors and teachers.

People who teach, lead men's and women's small groups, and provide music ministries are in constant demand. Alliance Men and Alliance Women provide a vehicle for outreach and a support base for missionary work.

Evangelism:

Your church does not wish to simply be a club, but it desires to reach out beyond itself and present Christ to others. Ask your pastor to be trained and equipped in this area.
