To what types of ministries can I give?
  • Local Church Ministry (tax-receiptable)
Ministries of the local church are dependent on the financial support of parishioners. Offering envelopes will usually allow you to give to the General Fund for church operations, the building fund and sometimes other areas that are suggested.
Donations to the Global Advance Fund (GAF) are pooled together and used strategically to support the global work of The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada. Designate your gift: Global Advance Fund.
  • Support of Individual C&MA Missionaries (tax-receiptable)
This provides for a more personal means of missionary support. These support donations are included as part of a missionary's allowance - they are not supplementary allowance funds for a missionary. If sufficient funds are given to meet the needs of designated missionaries, any excess gifts will be used for other Alliancemissionaries.
  • Designated Approved Special Projects (tax-receiptable)
Approved special projects include missionary work funds. The strategic ministry use of these funds is approved by the field leadership team. Donations for approved special projects are forwarded to the field for ministry use as designated by the donor. Designate your gift with the name of the special fund.
  • Outfit Funds for Missionaries (tax-receiptable)
Donations may be made to a missionary's outfit fund, which covers those field-approved items needed by the missionary to live on the field. Outfit donations are normally received during home assignment in C anada or before a missionary goes to the field, however, they may be processed at any time. Designate your gift: Outfit for (name of missionary).
  • Personal Gifts for Missionaries (non-tax-receiptable)
This is the only category of donations for which an income tax receipt cannot be provided. We will facilitate the sending of personal funds to missionaries for birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, etc., on the basis that these funds are non-tax-receiptable personal gifts, and are therefore not part of a missionary's allowance. Designate your gift: Personal Gift for (name of missionary).
Your gift to Canadian Ministries supports the ministries of the district in which you reside including church planting and leadership development (65%). It also supports church planting among multicultural group (20%) and the leadership training ministries of Ambrose University College and IBVIE (15%). Designate your gift: Canadian Ministries.
New and different kinds of churches are needed to reach different kinds of people and people groups for Christ. In the Alliance we expect that about half of all new church plants will be among non-anglo/non-Caucasian people. Designate your gift: Church Planting in Canada.
  • Training (tax-receiptable)
One significant way we prepare workers to expand God's work in Canada and around the world is through the training offered at our official Alliance schools in Canada: Ambrose University College (formerly Alliance University College), which includes Canadian Bible College and Canadian Theological Seminary, and Institut Biblique V.I.E., in Quebec. Designate your gift: Ambrose University College or IBVIE.
  • Where needed most (tax-receiptable)
