The Faith Promise method of giving was introduced to the early Alliance by our Founder, A.B. Simpson. It was modeled after the giving of New Testament Christians as described in 2 Corinthians 8 and 9. First the people made a commitment to give for the coming year. They relied on God, by faith, to provide what they had promised. Trusting God, they gave out of their poverty, beyond their ability, for missionary outreach and they carefully administered the offering.
A Faith Promise is a commitment to a partnership with God. It is based on your faith that God will provide through you a specific amount of money. You understand how God has provided for you in the past, and now you dare to expand your faith to believe he can provide even more. As he supplies your Faith Promise it will not only help the Global Advance Fund, it will grow your faith!
Following are the steps to making a Faith Promise:
1. Prayerfully consider what you will believe God will supply through you. a) determine what you are able to give b) add some for sacrifice c) add more for faith
2. Note your commitment and place it where you will remember your promise.
3. Pray daily that God will supply this Faith Promise gift through you.
Your gift - whether $5 or $50,000 - will make a difference both in God's work around the world and in your own heart. Pray until you are satisfied as to the size of the gift your faith can manage.
Many of our local churches have Faith Promise cards available, or you can make up your own with the following type of promise:
