An inseparable link exists between prayer and fruitful ministry, since it is through our prayers that God has chosen to unleash his power. Here are seven ways to help you pray more effectively for Alliance missionaries.

| 1) A Growing Relationship With God |
Pray for a vibrant relationship with and deepened love for God - for the filling of the Holy Spirit and dependence on His guidance - for victory over temptation - for discipline and joy in worship, prayer and Bible study - for character development. |
| 2) Physical, Mental and Emotional Health |
Pray for grace, flexibility, wisdom and strength for difficult situations and demanding schedules - that missionaries and their children would experience God's healing in illness and His comfort when facing homesickness, culture shock, loneliness, fear and discouragement - for joy in serving. |
| 3) Strong Family Relationships |
Pray for strong marriages and family relationships - for the salvation and spiritual growth of missionary children, and grace for families whose children attend school in another area - for contentment, integrity and strong, healthy friendships for single missionaries - for balance between home-life and ministry - for sexual purity and fidelity. |
| 4) Fruitful Ministry |
Pray for God's anointing on their teaching, preaching, witnessing, counselling, nursing or other work - for discernment to choose God's best when pressed by many needs - for the salvation of unbelievers and the establishment of vibrant churches - for the witness of tentmakers in limited access nations - for expanded outreach among least-reached peoples - for power against Satan's spiritual forces, including those of opposing religions - for our missionaries on home assignment in Canada as they encourage and challenge members of our congregations. |
| 5) Effective Communication |
Pray for perseverance and encouragement for those learning languages - for fluency to effectively communicate spiritual truths - for a growing love for the people and adaptation to their culture - for those involved with the translation, production and distribution of Christian literature - with the public showings of the JESUS film - and with the broadcasting of Christian radio and TV in hard-to-access areas. |
| 6) Strong Team Relationships |
Pray for open communication, understanding, humility, patience and unity with other missionaries, local believers, national church leaders, other Christian organizations and Alliance churches in Canada - that you and your church would grow as world Christians, supporting, encouraging and praying for our missionaries - that God will call people from your church to serve Him in missions. |
| 7) Country of Service |
Pray that God will help country leaders to govern well - that people would be drawn to the Prince of Peace, especially those suffering as a result of war, disaster, violence, persecution, political restriction, poverty, hunger, illness, illiteracy and hopelessness - that prisoners of drugs, alcohol, immorality, pornography, crime, materialism, unbelief and despair would find freedom and healing through Jesus Christ - that believers who face opposition from their families, friends and government would have courage and strength. |
