There were 1.3 million reasons to stand up and cheer Thursday morning as the family of Alliance churches presented the results of its special Ambrose offering.
Presenting the cheque, Alliance President Dr. Franklin Pyles noted that this was “the largest one-time offering ever given in either the U.S. or Canadian Alliance history!” The amount resulted from churches across Canada donating their entire offering of Sunday, May 4 to the Ambrose challenge.
Dr. Pyles and the six Canadian District Superintendents presented the cheque to Ambrose University College President Dr. George Durance. Sustained applause and a standing ovation greeted the announcement as Drs. Durance and Pyles urged delegates to “give all the glory to God” for the record amount. |
